Prepare for your hospitalisation

CLASSIC HOSPITALISATION

GENERAL INFORMATION

What do you need to bring?

By preparing your hospitalisation, you will make your stay much easier. Read this information before staying in the Europe Hospitals :

For admission

  • An identity document: your identity card, passport, card ISI+ or birth certificate for newborns
  • the address and phone number of your emergency contact person
  • payment means (réquisitoire) provided by the Public Centre for Social Welfare (CPAS) or your insurance company (if any), or your supplementary insurance card
  • an advance calculated on the basis of your room choice (only by bankcard)

In the event of a work accident

  • name and address of your employer
  • name and address of your insurance company
  • insurance policy number

For the hospital doctor

  • a letter sent by your attending physician (if any)
  • all medical documents relating to your state of health (blood group card, xrays, results of medical examinations...)
  • your usual and/or recent medication
  • your work incapacity certificate (confidential document that was given to you by your health insurance fund)

Personal belongings

  • sleepwear, undergarments, dressing gown, shoes, slippers etc.
  • toiletries (soap, towels, washcloth, comb, toothpaste, toothbrush, shaving equipment, tissues etc.)
  • books, newspapers, glasses, stationery etc.

We strongly advise you not to bring any valuables, jewellery, or large amounts of money. The hospital accepts no liability in case of theft or loss. Some rooms feature a personal safe.

Do not forget

  • to have your work incapacity certificate immediately filled in by your doctor This certificate must be sent, as soon as possible, to your employer and your health insurance fund (or insurance company)
  • warn the post office if you are a pensioner.
  • warn the nurse if a member of your family wishes to spend the night in your room. Note: this is only possible in a private room.
  • warn the nurse on duty when you leave our unit (for example, to have a coffee with your relatives).
  • Meals provided by hospital catering are suited to your specific needs with regard to your hospitalization. The Europe Hospitals accept no responsibility whatsoever in respect of storage, hygiene or quality of food other than that provided by hospital catering. Thank you for your understanding.
