CAN I HAVE SOMEONE WITH ME IN THE DELIVERY ROOM?

In the delivery room, you may be accompanied by the person of your choice (partner, relative...).

WHAT IS THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE DELIVERY ROOM?

In the St-Elisabeth site, we have four modern delivery rooms, one of which includes a jacuzzi and a birth pool for water deliveries. Each delivery room is fitted with a birthing bed, a birthing ball, a birth pool and a hi-fi stereo.

In the St-Michel site, we have five modern delivery rooms and two dilation pools.

On both sites, we also have various technological tools, including a centralised monitoring system that enables to monitor the delivery on a computer, pain medication pumps, droppers, changing tables for the new-born, etc.

WHAT IS THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE MATERNITY WARD?

We have single rooms, with or without a small annex for the baby, and double rooms. All the rooms are equipped with a bathroom featuring a shower, a toilet, a sink, a fridge, a television set, a Wi-Fi connection and a phone.

In single rooms, the father can also spend the night (for an extra charge). We will do all we can to adapt our care to the rhythm of the baby and the mother.

The accompaniment is done individually. If the baby requires phototherapy (in the case of new-born jaundice), it will be conducted in the room. During your stay at the maternity ward, you will receive the visit of a nurse from either O.N.E. or Kind & Gezin.

WHEN IS IT TIME FOR ME TO GO TO THE MATERNITY WARD?

Come immediately if your waters break, if there is bleeding, if your child moves less, if you are worried, if after 37 weeks of pregnancy you have been having contractions every three minutes for two to three hours (for your first child), or if you have been instructed to do so by your gynaecologist/midwife.

HOW DO I MAKE MY WAY TO THE DELIVERY ROOM?

In the St-Elisabeth site, from 7am to 8pm, you can use the main entrance to go to the maternity ward and to the delivery room located on the second floor. For emergency cases and from 8pm to 7am, you must go through the Emergency Ward, where you will be guided to our unit.

In the St-Michel site, you should go to the emergency ward 24/7, where you will be told how to get to the maternity ward.
