Heart Week at the Europe Hospitals

Atrial Fibrillation causes 20% of strokes (cerebral thrombosis). After 40, 1 out of 4 people will experience this cardiac arrhythmia, diagnosed by simple heart monitoring (electrocardiogram), which can be used to implement an efficient treatment. Its presence can be suspected by mere pulse monitoring for a few seconds. The Europe Hospitals, under the impulse of the Rhythmic Clinic, participate in the National Heart Week from the 24th to the 28th of September, 2018, and organise three information and screening sessions at the St-Elisabeth site.

Training programme:

  • Tuesday the 25th of September, from 10:00am to noon in French.
  • Wednesday 26th of September, from 10:00am to noon in French and in Dutch, general information session on the heart and preventing cardiovascular disease.
  • Thursday the 27th of September, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in French.

Signposting will be provided from the entrance of the Ste-Elisabeth site, Avenue de Fré 206, 1180 Uccle.
The entrance is free, no booking is required, and there is free parking.

At each session, a cardiologist is present to provide information, answer questions, and help you assess your personal risk and check your heart rate in a couple of seconds.
