03/19 & 03/20: Awareness campaign for colorectal cancer screening
As part of the “Blue March” campaign, dedicated to raising awareness about colorectal cancer screening, the Gastroenterology and Oncology departments at Europe Hospitals are organizing an awareness event.
On March 19 and 20, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, visitors and patients can explore a giant colon model at the entrance of the St-Elisabeth site (Uccle). They can step inside to observe the interior and better understand the anatomy of the colon. Inside, they will see polyps and diverticula, which illustrate the various lesions, the importance of screening, and the progression of colorectal cancer.
An information booth is also staffed by the medical and nursing teams from the gastroenterology and oncology departments. Visitors will receive practical information and explanations about the different screening methods, including total colonoscopy and the immunological FOBT (iFOBT) test.
