Intercultural mediation

The Europe Hospitals take in patients from all over the world. For the purpose of allowing patients from foreign countries to better communicate and to establish a suitable therapeutic relationship between the caregiver and the care-receiver, the intercultural mediation cell provides a service that aims at reducing language and cultural barriers to a minimum.

This service rests on trilateral communication or a video conferencing concept between the various parties involved and strives to offer support in all the requested languages.

The role of the intercultural mediator, who is bound by professional secrecy, is to intervene in a neutral manner and to forward all relevant messages.

Areas of intervention:

  • Interpreting
  • Mediation and awareness raising on behalf of foreign patients
  • Consultancy relating to health education
  • Dialogue with the health care staff

The mediator, Rania Saouma, works for the sites of St-Elisabeth and St-Michel.

You may request an appointment by phone or by email.
